Welcome to the site of the Summer Research program of Elmira College.
As part of our strong Science Program, Elmira College offers to their undergraduate students the opportunity of exploring research. Students are mentored by faculty within the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The eight week residential program provides students the opportunity of performing their own research in subjects such as microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, botany, ecology, and mathematics. In this sense, students get first hand experience in research while developing lab and life skills. Weekly breakfast lab meetings allow students to discuss and present their individual projects among the group. The student researchers receive room, board, and a generous stipend.

Although the work is challenging, students also enjoy many activities that the area has to offer. Weekly events have included hiking, picnics, mini-golf, and swimming at local parks. Most student researchers publish and present their work at regional professional conferences.
So, go ahead and start exploring what the Summer Research program at EC has for you...
