Welcome to my webpage!

My title at the Gannett-Tripp Library is Information Literacy and Accreditation Librarian.  "Information Literacy" means, essentially, knowing when information is needed, and where and how to find it, evaluate it, and use it.  In support of this, I supervise research and reference services provided at the Library Services Desk; I teach students and faculty how to use the library’s resources and find articles, books, and so forth; and I help answer research questions from Elmira College’s students and staff.

"Accreditation" refers to my role in Elmira College's recent Middle States self-study, for which I collected documents related to academic assessment and uploaded them to the document repository known as the EC Cloud.  I also collect course syllabi during each academic term and upload them to the Cloud.

Libraries are reservoirs of strength, grace and wit, reminders of order, calm and continuity, lakes of mental energy, neither warm nor cold, light nor dark. The pleasure they give is steady, unorgastic, reliable, deep and long-lasting. In any library in the world, I am at home, unselfconscious, still and absorbed.
