Resetting Mail Password on iPhone or iPad

When your Elmira College password is reset, it will not automatically change on your iPhone or iPad. Below are steps to manually set your new password. 
  • Tap Settings
  • Under Settings tap Mail, Contacts, and Calendars
  • Under Accounts choose your mail account (e.g. mtwain@elmira.edu)
  • Under Exchange choose the account mtwain@elmira.edu (or whatever you named the account)
  • To the right of Password backspace out the old passcode.
  • Type your new password.
  • Tap the blue Done button. The Account dialog box should respond with checkmarks for each field and close.
  • Close out of any remaining boxes and press the Home button.
  • Checking your e-mail should now work. It may take a few moments to resync your mail.
On occassion, it may be necessary to delete the iPhone or iPad account (this will not affect your mail residing on the server) and recreate from scratch. Please call the IT Help Desk 607-735-1915 for assistance.
